A transfer certificate for school in Dubai: what it is and how to get it
A Transfer Certificate (TC) is an official letter from the child's current school stating where they attended, what grade they completed, and what grade they are being transferred to. It's required for enrollment in any school in Dubai. Without it, the school won't register the child with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). Therefore, it's best to obtain this document while still in Russia. Below are school requirements and the legalization process.

There's no standard form. Each Dubai school sends its own template with the required fields. Therefore, first request a template from the admissions office. Then submit it to the Russian school. This way, you won't have to redo the transfer certificate.
What is a transfer certificate?
The certificate is issued by the child's current school. First, it confirms that the child attended it. It also includes educational information: name, date of birth, and citizenship. The school also details the curriculum, the 12- or 13-year system, the academic year, and the grade. Finally, the certificate includes the year's results, the transfer grade, and the last day of attendance.
A transfer certificate is required for a student to register in the system. KHDA. However, a certificate alone is not enough. The school must receive at least a scanned copy before classes begin. Who needs a certificate of transfer?
A certificate is required for all students in Years 3 through 13. In the 12-year system, this applies to grades 2 through 12. Requirements for a certificate from a foreign school
The certificate is issued on the school's official letterhead. It must include the full name, address, country, and phone number. It must also be signed by the principal and certified with the school seal. The certificate must be in English or Arabic. If the document is in Russian, it must be translated and certified. Corrections to the text are unacceptable. Notaries and consulates do not accept such documents. Therefore, if you make a mistake, immediately ask the school for a clean copy.
Legalization: Certificate of Transfer from Russia
The UAE is not a party to the Hague Convention. Therefore, an apostille is not suitable, and consular legalization is required. The procedure for school documents from Russia is as follows: First, the certificate is signed by the principal and certified with the school seal. Then, it is certified by the Ministry of Education and the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After this, the document is legalized by the UAE embassy or consulate. Transfer between schools within the UAE
If the child has already studied in the UAE, the certificate is issued by their previous school. It uses the official template of their emirate. The certificate is then certified by the local education authority. In Dubai, this is the KHDA. This certificate is required for all students starting in Year 1.
If it is difficult to obtain a certificate
