Malta's visa is the most difficult in the Schengen area: nearly four refusals out of ten applications. Malta refuses Russian citizens three times more often than the European average. We applied there, and it wasn't an easy case.
Who filed?
A teenage girl, aged 14 to 18, a Russian citizen, lives with her mother in Dubai. Her goal is to study English for three weeks at a language school in Malta. She is traveling alone, unaccompanied.
What was the difficulty?
The parents live in different countries. To obtain a visa, the minor needs consent to leave from both parents, and my father was overseas. He obtained the consent form from an online notary in his country, and when the school shifted the dates, we reissued the document to accommodate the new date.
At our first appointment, the visa center requested additional documents regarding guardianship. We reassembled our file, obtained a new appointment, and resubmitted. We sent the missing documents directly to the Consulate General of Malta in Dubai and received confirmation.
What else did you do?
We found a school that accepts teenagers in the fall; in Malta, almost all programs for under-18s only run in the summer. We arranged dates, homestay accommodation, and transfers with the school. We prepared certified translations, insurance, and a sponsorship letter, and checked every bank statement.
Result: a visa to Malta in 12 days
The decision came 12 days after application. She received a Malta Type C visa for 22 days with the "short-term study" designation. The girl flew to Malta and is now studying.
Who is this suitable for?
If a child is traveling to Europe to study alone, if the parents live in different countries, or if one of them is unable to attend the visa application center, or if you are applying from the UAE with a Russian passport, these situations can be resolved. However, submitting these documents "as is" is not an option: each document must be approved by the consulate in advance. More information about documents is available on this page. What is the price
We work hourly: 900 AED for half a day's work. Payment in rubles is also possible. Consular and visa fees, translations, and notary fees are paid separately. Visas are not guaranteed, but we will assemble your application in a way that will leave no questions unanswered at the consulate.
