As of today, April 24, 2024, Romania has started issuing both national and Schengen visas. If you need a visa for a short stay within the Schengen area, you can apply for a Schengen visa type C. Romania issues it as part of its integration into the Schengen area.

To apply for a Romanian visa in Dubai, you need to follow these steps:
Types of visas:
In Romania there are short-term (type C) and long-term (type D) stay visas.
Determine whether you need a short-term (type C) or long-term (type D) visa to Romania, depending on the purpose and duration of your visit. A short-term visa is suitable for tourism or business trips. - Processing times and costs:
- The processing time for a short stay visa can be up to 14 days. It is recommended to apply in advance.
- The fee for a short stay visa is usually around 80 euros, which may vary slightly depending on the current exchange rate.
- Visa refusals and validity:
- Visa applications may be refused, and in such cases you have the right to appeal the decision. If your application is approved, the validity of your visa will usually be for the length of your stay as stated in your travel plans, up to a maximum of 90 days for short-stay visas (VisaRequirements).

VISA PROCESSING TIME IS FROM 3 TO 6 MONTHS
Since May 2022, the consulate has been recording a record number of visa applications: for family, business, tourism and other purposes. Most of the applications are for work visas due to the quota for foreigners set by the Romanian authorities. The waiting time for an interview can reach 3-5 months. Work permits are now valid for 6 months. Therefore, applicants need a UAE visa with a minimum validity of 6 months at the time of application. The consulate does not track the status of visas. The applicant will receive an email with the decision of the Romanian authorities.
